Wiki fixes for people on Apollo mmWave 2.3.0, needed before Home Assistant 2026.11 ships on Wednesday 2026-11-04. That release blocks the custom HACS integration and moves it into a built-in Marketplace, so every Apollo mmWave install and update step now covers both.

Marketplace and HACS (Apollo mmWave setup page and its four product copies)

  • Before you start names both: the Marketplace under Settings → Marketplace on 2026.11 or newer (it is a Settings tile, not a sidebar entry, in 2026.11.0b3 and on rc and dev), and HACS 2.0.5 on 2026.10 or earlier.
  • Install is now two tabs. Marketplace: search, or Add from link with the GitHub link field, then Install, plus what happens without a connected GitHub account. HACS: the existing steps. Both cover Apollo mmWave not being listed yet: Adds new integration [ApolloAutomation/apollo-mmwave-main] hacs/default#12737 is merged, but the HACS data publish has not run since 10/29, so people add the repository themselves for now. The hacs_repository My link still works on 2026.11, and the old #install-apollo-mmwave-through-hacs anchor still resolves.
  • The Marketplace often opens the setup dialog right away, with no restart, for a new integration. The page says when to skip the restart.
  • New Update Apollo mmWave section: Settings → System → Updates, the Marketplace's Update and Install another version, and HACS Redownload and Need a different version?.
  • From the original Apollo mmWave repository now warns that the switch has to happen on HACS, before 2026.11. The Marketplace can't remove an installed entry (Uninstall it first) and won't install a second repository into the same folder. Its uninstall offers only Delete and uninstall, which would wipe the zones.

Every UI string was checked against Home Assistant core 2026.11.0b3 (components/marketplace), frontend 20261028.3 (the Marketplace panel and en.json), and HACS frontend 20250128065759 (the one HACS 2.0.5 ships).

Phone reload steps

The new Load the new cards section has the restart, then Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R on a computer, then closing the Home Assistant app fully. If a card still looks old, it gives the cache reset: Android Settings → Companion app → Troubleshooting → Reset frontend cache, or iPhone Settings → Companion app → Debugging → Clear web view cache. The other reload mentions on the page now link to it.

MTR-1

  • General tips → Mounting: a corner mount sees about 15 degrees past each wall. Mirrors, glass and tile make ghosts. Keep a Room zone about 30 cm (1 ft) inside shared walls. Zones match the room only while the sensor stays mounted as it was, so never test with it in hand. Also adds one SVG diagram (docs/assets/mtr1-corner-mount-view.svg).
  • Sensor definitions → Timeout: it holds only LD2450 Presence, Moving Target and Still Target, it counts only once the radar sees nobody anywhere in view, and 2.3.0 zones have no hold.
  • FAQ Publish via CloudCannon #11: lists what can be adjusted instead of sensitivity.
  • zones-hlk.md (MTR-1 and R PRO-1): no longer calls Area Detection the most common option. With the zone map, Close detection (Zone Type Disabled) is what the dashboard recommends.

MSR-1 and MSR-2 sensor definitions

  • A tip: run room lights from Radar Target, and raise Radar Timeout to 60 s or more for people who sit still. Changing it restarts the radar.
  • Reduce DB Reporting: what it filters on 26.10.12.1. With it on, the distance sensors can stay Unknown and the zone sensors Clear while Radar Still Target is on.
  • The distance rows now say they read Unknown with no target, which is what the firmware does.

Checks

check_markdown, check_secrets, check_images, mkdocs build (681 cairosvg warnings, the baseline) and check_links on the built site all pass: 683 pages, 0 broken links, 0 bad anchors.

Walkthrough

The documentation adds Home Assistant Marketplace installation and update guidance, limits repository migration steps by Home Assistant version, and revises radar sensor, mounting, and zone setup instructions across product guides.

Changes

Marketplace installation and updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Marketplace installation and updates
docs/products/general/setup/apollo-mmwave-dashboard-setup.md, docs/products/{msr1,msr2,mtr1,rpro1}/setup/apollo-mmwave-dashboard-setup.md
The setup guide distinguishes Marketplace and HACS installation steps and adds update, rollback, and card-refresh guidance. Product page descriptions list both installers.

…otice and the MSR changes

Zone map (R PRO-1 and MTR-1):
- New "Zoom in and move the map" section: the minus, + and Fit row above
m / ft, 1x to 8x, Ctrl or Cmd and scroll, a trackpad pinch in Chrome,
Edge and Firefox, Shift or middle-button drag, two-finger pinch and pan
on phones (locked maps, Walk and no zone selected too), Fit's rules,
finer grid lines, when the zoom resets, and Safari's unhandled pinch.
A MEDIA: zoom marker shows where the clip goes.
- Corners snap to a tenth of the grid step (10 cm at 1 m, 2 in at 2 ft),
Alt or Option places freely, Walk corners never snap, and the drawing
readout reads to the centimeter when the snap is finer than 10 cm.
- The touch readout moves beside the finger near the top of the map; a
second finger drops a started rectangle or ellipse.
- The wider zone map section and the height cap; the MTR-1 and R PRO-1
tab layouts with two-column sections and dense placement.
- The mount-first hint under Cone rotation, the new flip hint, and the
Mark corners by walking chip on phones and tablets.
- Hold: someone seen in a zone for under about 1.2 s counts only within
0.3 m of an edge unless they moved at 0.85 m/s, so a couch or bed zone
holds; slow walks out of view soon after entering often hold.
- Zone presence waits for both halves of the radar's X and Y report,
which can delay a zone up to about half a second.
- A reused zone number starts with fresh generated names, but Home
Assistant brings the old entity IDs back.
- LD2450 Presence on LD2450 Live and Occupancy History.

Tuning cards (MSR-1, MSR-2, R PRO-1 LD2412):
- Gate Energy: "above threshold", faded gates outside the radar's range,
the radar's own answer under the chart, and the LD2410 needs-movement
  line. Distances: "distance unknown".
- Start here, Zone Config and Auto-calibrate now point automations at
Radar Target and Radar Timeout. New troubleshooting section for Radar
Target turning off while someone sits still.

Setup page: the Reload and Restart notices in Load the new cards and the
error-after-update entry, and 2.4.0 update notes for the presence delay
and the Radar Target advice.

MTR-1 FAQ #11 and the Timeout row now name 2.4.0's ignore zones and hold
times alongside the 2.3.0 advice from #1202.
