Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence provides on-device AI explanations for cleanup candidates, processes, and startup services.

How It Works

When enabled, the app sends a description of a file, process, or service to the on-device FoundationModels API (available on macOS 26.0+). The model generates a short, plain-language explanation of what the item is and whether it is safe to remove.

Requirements

• macOS 26.0 or later
• Apple Silicon
• On-device models must be downloaded in System Settings (Apple Intelligence)

Privacy

Inference happens entirely on-device. No data leaves the machine, no network connection is required.

Enabling

Toggle AI Suggestions in Settings → Automation. Explanations appear next to scan results in Smart Cleanup, Process Manager, and Startup Services.
