An all-in-one suite that listens to and defends Minecraft (Java Edition) LAN broadcasts. Built for large or virtual LANs: discover and monitor open worlds efficiently without launching the game. The WinpkFilter defense engine rapidly mitigates world-list spam attacks, and highly optimized performance keeps the program at low load in the background.
- Live discovery: listens for LAN multicast and lists joinable worlds in real time, with updates saved
- Status queries: version, player count and latency via SLP, with optional auto-refresh
- Text rendering: MOTD and world names support vanilla text formatting codes
- Efficient logging: an efficient, polished log kernel with automatic saving
- High compatibility: works with VPN and virtual LAN adapters out of the box
- Background operation: closing the window can send the app to the background; memory usage is trimmed automatically and defense keeps running at near-zero cost
- Blacklist: block senders by IP
- Auto-block: rate-based dynamic dropping; traffic recovers automatically once back under the limit
- Fake-world filter: drops broadcasts announcing invalid port numbers
- Frame-level engine: built on the Windows Packet Filter (ndisrd) driver, only broadcast frames from blacklisted sources to UDP 4445 are dropped, leaving a blocked peer's other traffic untouched. If the driver is missing, the bundled installer inside the app performs a quick silent install / uninstall
Requires Rust 1.77+ (MSVC):
cargo run --releaseConfig files are saved automatically in %LOCALAPPDATA%\MinecraftLanGuard\
Apache-2.0
The bundled Windows Packet Filter driver installer comes from wiresock/ndisapi (MIT). Note that WinpkFilter is proprietary software; commercial or for-profit redistribution is prohibited.
