Closing this as obsolete. This was an "in case we ever need this" reference note for skipping per-component PDF generation via the Antora-assembler component_versions: ['*', '!name-of-component'] key.

That mechanism belongs to the Antora-assembler PDF pipeline, which is no longer actively generating PDFs for the ownCloud docs:

• owncloud/docs bin/ownCloudDocPdf.py and docs/html-to-pdf.md document a stop-gap converter explicitly described as a workaround "until Antora is upgraded to version 3 … PDF export of Antora 3 [is] not implemented."
• docs/antora-site-structure.md states PDFs are only produced "when reenabled" — i.e. the PDF build is currently disabled.

Since standalone PDF generation is not active, the per-component skip configuration is moot. The Antora-assembler syntax remains documented upstream (and in this issue) for reference should PDF builds ever be re-enabled.

If PDF generation is reinstated and per-component skipping becomes a real need, please reopen with the specific components involved. Thanks!
