Network devtools opened in VS Code(Cursor) - selected data can't be copied

When I open Network console as a tab in VS Code(Cursor), I can select with mouse some text, such as request URI or anything else, but I can't copy it to share with my backend team report and have to do it via custom logs in terminal.

The ability to copy text directly from the Network console would be extremely valuable for developer workflows. Currently, when debugging API issues or sharing network request details with the backend team, we have to resort to custom logging in the terminal just to copy URIs and other request information. Native copy support would significantly improve productivity and collaboration

What OS are you using? DevTools 2.51.1 introduced a fix for this on macOS (based on our testing, copy-paste already worked on Windows).

@Korpyc how are you copying? The fix in #9472 applies only to Cmd+C, but unfortunately doesn't handle other ways of copying (like menus).

Could you also confirm which version of Cursor and the Dart+Flutter extensions you're using? Thanks!

It seems like the fix in #9472 is less general than I realised. Cmd+C now works for some things, like if you select text inside a textbox, but it doesn't work for this selected text here.

I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the browser/JS, or something to do with how Flutter works.

In the fix, when you press Cmd+C, the clipboard API inside the Flutter iframe fails, but we send the keypress up to the surrounding frame in Dart-Code, which then re-sends it using window.dispatchEvent(new KeyboardEvent('keydown', data)). This seems to work for textboxes, but not for this selected text.

@elliette do you know what the difference might be between these? My first thought was that the textboxes are handled natively by the platform, but of course they're not platform textboxes and they're fully rendered by Flutter also, so I'm not sure what might be different.

The selected text in the screenshot below are Text widgets wrapped in a single SelectionArea.

I believe the difference between that and Flutter TextField is that the text fields create a hidden <input> element on Web (or at least that is what this bug describes: flutter/flutter#47693 @loic-sharma / @mdebbar can confirm.) So I think in the case of TextField widgets the interaction is from a native browser textbox which could explain the discrepancy here.
