@YazanGithub438 I'm not the developer of this repository/typeface but I don't think it's going to get any more updates anytime soon :(

In the meantime, I highly suggest Monaspace, which is a typeface family I've been using for quite a while now. It supports many Latin script languages including Vietnamese, as well as Cyrillic , Greek and some IPA characters. https://github.com/githubnext/monaspace/

Never going to happen without substantial funding.
This would require drawing thousands of glyphs for all the different masters.
And many, many hours of spacing, kerning, testing, etc., etc.

@kenmcd Your reply is actually rather comprehensive. Thank you very much. I was aware that Google Fonts supported the creation of Recursive typeface but wasn't aware that the support came in the form of direct funding.

A bit off topic but do you have any good free and open-source typefaces to recommend? I honestly only aware of those listed in Fontsource, Google Fonts, Monaspace and programmingfonts.org.

Kind of a big question.
But I assume you mean mono programming fonts.
You can find some not-yet-in-GF fonts by filtering their issues tracker.
Add the word "Add" to the filter to see new submissions.

And add "mono" to find new monospace - is:issue state:open Add mono

This will show things like "Add Buena Mono" - a family which you may like.
And that post will have a link to the source repo, which will have the current fonts.

These labels are in the drop-down in the issues table header.
At anytime there are many fonts you may like working their way thru the GF system (slowly).

There are other old well known fonts with GF incompatible licenses.
Quite a few of those in the CTAN TeX packages downloads.
Most of the other stuff out in the wild is quite iffy.

I modify the better ones for my own use.
Almost done with a modified version of Noto Sans Mono for use in documentation.
Minus the annoyances, and some added features (e.g. case more similar to Recursive).
