Adding data from the database to https://xasdb.lightsource.ca

Hi Matt,

This isn't an issue but rather a proposal—I wanted to ask if you'd be open to me merging data from this database into the XASDB.

Of course, all authorship, licensing information, and original links to the data will be fully preserved and included with each spectrum and its description on XASDB.

I'm currently working on a new version of the database and plan to introduce additional standards as part of this update.

@dspasyuk Yes! This data is also all at https://doi.org/10.71622/XASLIB_535X-8J62 (which can also be used as a citation).

I like the interface of your XASDB. But, it might be nice to add a "download these spectra" button. Maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time remembering how to download any spectrum -- it is one of those icons, but I cannot remember what any of them do.

Would it also be possible to go the other way, and put some of the CLS data at https://xaslib.xrayabsoprtion.org ?

That is fantastic, Matt! I like the idea of DOI! On that note in our database I use "# Publication.doi: " for DOIs but it is technically not a part of XDI format. Is there DOI field in XDI? Am I missing it somehow?

Fair point. I'm adding a menu bar at the top of the viewer/db for this reason in the new version. The old version only has pop-up title fields on mouse hover.

Absolutely! I will open source everything once I release the new version.

Please let me know if the citation for your data is appropriate. https://xasdb.lightsource.ca This version has enhance Data viewer (XasVue) and a lot of general improvements. I also expanded Beamline charts to some APS, NSLS, SSRL beamlines that we have data from. I appreciate any feedback!
