Issue #26 of the SysAdmin Weekly Newsletter just dropped, and this one was driven by a news event most of you probably saw at least one ripple of: Anthropic released Claude Fable 5 to the public on June 9, and by the evening of June 12, both Fable 5 and the wider Mythos 5 class were dark for every customer on the planet. Not deprecated, not rate-limited. Switched off, worldwide. The trigger was a US export-control directive, and this edition is about what that should mean for how the rest of us think about AI dependencies.

What's in this edition:

• From the Console: A lab consolidation that felt like a philosophical exercise a month ago, and stopped being philosophical this week.
• The Take: The full Fable 5 timeline, including the Amazon supply-chain twist (investor, cloud host, and the party who walked the model into a regulator, all in one company). Plus where this fits in the three-axis argument the newsletter has been building since Issue 21.
