This is certainly unconventional, but what is the licensing used for the art assets provided by the website?

The reason I ask is that I want to write a Lutris installer with custom art assets in the sense that they use the assets provided by the website, purely as convenience, but stemming from the fact that I'm using Lutris on my current setup to properly run the (native) game under NixOS. I'm aware that the website itself is licensed under the ISC license, I'm specifically asking about the art assets, like the logo at the top of the page.

Just in case, I would make the song names in the week follow the filenames you've set for each song folder, but otherwise, that should work.

Hm. You may need to manually add week difficulty subnodes, since you mentioned custom difficulties, then:

In that case, you should be able to implement it by adding a custom event. In the event script, you can add a variable that tracks the state of the bars, which gets toggled each time the event is triggered. You can then create the actual bars using FlxSprites that have the bar graphic made using makeGraphic, and then you tween the bars every time the event is triggered.

Hi, is there a suggestion box in here or smth? If there isnt then can i make one? Im a mobile user, and fnf is very easy. However, in codename engine, the controls are different and its impossible for me to play correctly. Can the developers make it so that the controls match the orifinal friday night funkin controls?

You can use the issue tracker for the suggestion purpose. Add the "Feature" issue type and the "type:enhancement" label.

In regards to the actual suggestion, are you using something like Exagen or Winlator? You should be able to configure the layout of the controls from within either of those.

If you're using a native application, Codename dropped official, native mobile support before v1.0.0 because of complications with the port's developer. That mobile port should not be used, particularly in regards to how outdated it's become.

Hm, if you mean playing a video before the countdown, you are able to place a video cutscene file like here. If you want to play a video instead of the countdown, then you will additionally need to cancel the countdown event.

In that case, one thing you can do is set the DISABLE_WARNING_SCREEN flag in your configuration to false and redirect WarningState to a custom state that starts the video.

Removing it from the story mode is possible by not adding it to any week.

You can simply configure data/config/freeplaySonglist.txt like normal to remove it from freeplay, though in order to access it without triaging through the chart editor, you'll need to implement a custom way to access the song. You can load a song through PlayState.loadSong and then immediately switch to PlayState in order to actually access the song.

How do I change the display name of a song in a selected week?

There is the hide attribute for the song node if you want to hide the song name from the track list. Monster uses this in the base game. If you're referring to changing the actual display name, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be possible with the week XML at the moment, as the story mode menu reads the display name from the song metadata; however, a potential workaround might be to use the onChangeDifficulty callback in a script for the story mode menu to directly alter tracklist based on the current week.

how do i make it so when a sprite with a lot of singing frames does a long note, it doesnt loop?

for me it feels like random, sometimes it loops, and sometimes it doesn't, how do i get it to not loop and pause at one frame, then after the hold note it continues the animation? BONUS QUESTION: how to i make a sprite return to its idle after singing

There should be a couple of scripts available in the Discord server for what you're trying to do.

As for the other question, have you tried adding the transition directly into the animation?
