You can look into the code of the title screen in Cyber Sensation: Malware Breakout. That's how I learned to make states

I might or might not post a script I made a while ago that does exactly this with a VideoSprite on Codename's Discord. The code has to be cleaned up though and I'm currently lazying out. It's for PlayState (I assume that's what you mean by gameplay)
