Bug: freebuff exits immediately with SIGILL on older CPUs (no AVX2)
Running freebuff crashes immediately on startup.
Error:
❌ freebuff exited immediately (signal SIGILL)
Your CPU may not support the required instruction set (AVX2).
This typically affects CPUs from before 2013.
Unfortunately, this binary is not compatible with your system.
System info:
- Platform: linux x64
- Node: v24.16.0
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20GHz (2009, no AVX2)
- OS: Linux Mint / Ubuntu Noble
Request:
Please provide a fallback binary compiled without AVX2 requirements, so users with older hardware can also use Freebuff. Many people in developing countries rely on older laptops and would benefit from this.
Thank you!
